Ionic pro oreck air purifier comparison consumer reports silent air reviews

air purifier consumer reports, air purifier rating. What’s that smell? Smells like too many air purifiers to choose from. With all of these air cleaners supposedly doing what the others can’t, it’s hard to find an honest review of all the top models. Every company only lists positive air purifier reviews, including how much better this model is than the other leading brands.

Air Purifier Reviews
The simple fact is most of these air purifiers do what they say they will do, namely get rid of odors and pollutants inside your home. Particles left over from dust, mold, pollen, smoke, animal dander and bacteria can be harmful to a healthy pair of lungs, and all the more so if you suffer from allergies or asthma. Therefore, finding out which air purifier is right for you and your home is a matter of consulting a reliable yet neutral source of information.

Consumer Reports Comparisons of Air Purifiers
purifier comparisons. Consumer Reports, a respected reporting source recently reviewed all of the top air cleaners and made a detailed report over which ones worked and which ones left something to be desired.

Ionic Pro Air Purifier Review
One major concern was that ionic and electronic filter systems produced detectable amounts of ozone, a gas that is known to be a lung irritant. Several air purifier reviews noted this. Sharper Image’s Professional Series Ionic Breeze Quadra SI737 was mentioned negatively on the report, because of poor performances cleaning dust and smoke as well as emitting ozone levels beyond the industry standard. The SI637 model of the same name also exceeded the ozone limit.

Tests reported that many portable air cleaners nearly matched the quality of professionally installed systems, though the overall quality of many designs was rated as poor. Virtually all small ionic air cleaners tested poorly, even while electrostatic precipitators remains an effective technology. Size was the key issue here, and smaller ionic models from Sharper Image and Oreck proved ineffective.

Oreck Air Purifier Reviews
The popular Oreck XL Professional Air Purifier Signature Series also performed poorly, despite making a lot of claims and receiving a “seal of truth” from the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America. (This mention was not, however, an actual endorsement of the product) The Oreck Professional while claiming to clean dirt, dust and allergen particles, rated poorly with the Consumer Reports review system.

Not surprisingly, the most expensive models (anywhere from $500.00 to $1000.00 or more) tested very well and emitted little to no ozone. Some had to be professionally installed, and others required replacing filters frequently. However, to maintain the highest quality of air control, sometimes it costs you.
